Camping at Dinkey Creek Campground

We just got back yesterday from a fun 2 day camping trip at the Dinkey Creek campground. It's located up near Shaver lake on the road that also takes you to McKinley Grove as well as Wishon and Courtright reservoirs.
It was an interesting campground with Dinkey Creek not very far away. We drove further up the road to an area of the creek called "Honeymoon Pool" (don't know why it's called that) and my good friend Chris Dewey and I had lots of fun swimming in the frigid water coming off of the snowpack. I must say it was very invigorating and I'd like to do it again. Next we drove to the end of the road and observed from high above that one little section of the creek had at least 50 trout huddled inside the rocky boundaries. I guess they thought they were safe - but several fisherman took advantage of them and walked away with their limits.
There were several beautiful rocks and rock formations at the campgound, which was also fun.
The group was composed of Saint Agnes employees along with friends and families.
Heather did a great job of organizing this trip from start to finish.
